Heligoland is a German archipelago in the North Sea. It is well-known as an important breeding area for a large variety of seabirds, and therefor a good destination for birdwatchers. Motor vehichles are prohibited on the archipelago. A day trip will provide travelers with plenty of time to walk around and explore the cliffs, visit the aquarium, and enjoy the duty free shopping available. Nearby is a satellite island of Heligoland called Düne. It offers beautiful beaches with clear waters, and the opportunity to see seals lounging on the sand.
