Originally known as Vestmannahavn, an Old Norse word for "Westmen's harbor", Vestmanna is a popular excursion boat destination. Formerly a ferry port, this town in the Faroe Islands is often visited by travelers coming to see Vestmannabjørgini, or the cliffs of Vestmanna. These cliffs are an excellent destination for those wishing to get up close and personal with the rock face and have the opportunity to see many different species of seabird such as guillemots, puffins, gulls, cormorants, fulmars, and more.
